I am a fourth year student majoring in Political Science with a minor in Business at the University of Rhode Island. The purpose of this portfolio is to show people what makes me unique and what would make me an excellent member of any team in the working world. My grandfather used to say, “if it was easy everyone would do it”. I took this lesson to heart, here was a man born to Italian immigrants, and made a life from nothing. I have always taken pride in working hard, whether it be in the classroom, or on the ice rink. My success was never a product of natural ability. My life has been characterized by working harder then the next guy. I may not be the world’s best mathematician, but I know how to communicate with others and connect with people on personal level. As I grew older I realized that I had a flair for debate. Whether it being debating politics with family on Thanksgiving, or arguing with my friends over football, debate has always been a passion. I have taken these life experiences and convinced myself that there is no other career for me then the Law. My internship at the Rhode Island Department of the Attorney General has reinforced this belief.
